What Data We Collect
When you set up your profile in Famploy Copilot, you provide:

We do not collect: passwords, payment information, browsing history unrelated to job pages, or any sensitive personal data beyond what you explicitly provide.
How We Use Your Data
- Autofill: Your profile data is used to fill job application form fields automatically on supported platforms.
- Cover Letter Generation: Your name, skills, bio, and the job description are sent to our backend to generate an AI-powered cover letter using OpenAI's GPT-3.5 model.
- Resume Match Score: Your skills and resume text are compared locally against the job description — no data is sent to any server for this feature.
- Application Tracking: Job application details are saved locally on your device and optionally synced to our Supabase database to enable cross-device access.
- Profile Sync: Basic profile information (name, email, skills, links) is synced to our backend database to enable future features like dashboard access.

Your resume file is stored only on your local device and is never uploaded to any server. It is converted to text locally for keyword matching purposes only.
Third-Party Services
Famploy Copilot uses the following third-party services:
- Supabase: Stores your basic profile data and application history. Data is stored on Supabase's servers (AWS infrastructure). Supabase Privacy Policy →
- OpenAI: Processes cover letter generation requests. Per OpenAI's API policy, API data is not used to train their models and is not retained beyond processing. OpenAI Privacy Policy →
- Railway: Hosts our backend API server. No user data is stored on Railway's infrastructure beyond server logs. Railway Privacy Policy →
Your Rights
You have full control over your data:
- Access: All your data is visible in the extension's onboarding and profile screens.
- Delete locally: Click "Reset All Data" in the extension popup to delete all locally stored data immediately.
- Delete from cloud: Email us at privacy@famploy.com to request deletion of your data from our Supabase database.
- Export: Your profile data is accessible via Chrome's developer tools at any time.
- Opt out of sync: The extension works fully offline — cloud sync only happens when you save your profile.
Data Security
- All communication between the extension and our backend uses HTTPS encryption.
- Your data in Supabase is protected by row-level security (RLS) policies.
- We do not store API keys, passwords, or payment information.
- The extension does not inject scripts from external servers — all code runs locally.
- We follow industry-standard security practices and regularly review our infrastructure.
Children's Privacy
Famploy Copilot is designed for job seekers and is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
